Criticism at work – Good or bad?

Critique or criticism is something which everybody cannot take it in a positive way and is often offended by criticism, especially if it is happening in the work place. alien

"Criticism” can be good if it results in a positive behavior change or it can be bad when it ends up hurting relationships and not causing the intended change. The goal of constructive criticism, as it is sometimes called, should be to correct people’s mistakes – but not to bring them down. Criticism gives scope for improvement and hence should be there, but the choice of language and the way to put criticism ahead should not be offending and insulting.

criticism is the analysis and judgement of the merits and faults. Every person is different and the way they deal with things like criticism, some take it in a positive way and try to avoid the same in future whereas some take it in negative way and starts complaining and making excuses and lands up in the same situation again. according to me criticism should be taking in a positive for a better future.

According to my views,by the criticism we can learn so many things ,we can improve our self by taking criticism in a positive way.And as far as the work place is concern it is very much important so that atleast one can have his and her feedback.so always take criticism in a positive manner, it forces you to think about yourself, to know deep about yourself which is needed as well.it helps us in individual learning and keep us far from the bad practices.

Criticism means disapproval.
In my point of view it is good actually, for example we can say one is doing his/her job and being criticized by someone ,so atleast he/she came to know the perception of others or what others think about him/her and this will help to some extent to improve himself/herslef.
Basically it is kind of judgement other passes on you and it depends on you how you take either as motivational or demotivational.

Criticism is something we all come across in one or the other way, its about how one takes it. Criticism can be treated as a feedback, and one can work upon it. Its sometimes necessary to have criticism at work place, this can actually tell you your potential of doing things in a better way. So looking at all this, i strongly believe that criticism is good if taken in sporty way.

Criticism signifies disapproval and it is generally taken in negative sense.But if we look into the positive aspects then we realize that it is nothing different from giving feedback.The only thing that it happens many times that somebody has done something in incorrect manner and we have to correct them.Now this can be done in two ways one in which the person feel you are helping him,or he feel like being insulted by you.There is a very thin line between explaining and criticizing.We all need feed backs in our work,but they should be received and given in an appropriate manner so that they should not take the frame of criticism.

Criticism is only helpful to the extend it is taken in a healthy manner. Criticism taken in a positive way helps in undergoing a chance of improvement in the individual. But criticism can be taken in a feedback form only when it is intended to do so. It can also done to show disrespect or a demotivational factor in the work place. Therefore i personally feel criticism isn't good or bad. Its depends on the attitude of the person criticizing and the receiver to take it in a positive manner or not.

Criticism helps the individual in learning new areas of work and helps in analyzing even extremely small things and improve his work.It will encourage you to do the work without mistakes and also gives scope for improvement and should be there, but the way to put criticism ahead should not be offending and insulting.

criticism is something that is now a part of today's life .Motivation and scolding(criticism) goes hand in hands.On the part of management,a manager must encourage his employees so that the over all goal of the organisation can be achieved with full utilization of available scare resources.
but if the employees cannot do their work then their should be a measure to take them on the track again.thus manager should us criticism measure to take them to the right direction,but it does not meant that the should criticize them in front of everybody.So its should be used in a manner so that it can motivate the employees.

i feel criticism at work can be both good and bad like if it is done in a positive way than it may help in locating the mistakes and faults and improving the quality of work but many a times over-criticism may lead to demotivation and negative feelings about the person who criticize a lot.so criticism done in a positive manner can help increase the growth of the company by encouraging employees to consider and give it a thought.
